We do a little bit of work with Help For Heroes and I'm making a plea on their behalf.

Every year at this time Help For Heroes put together xmas stockings for soldiers that are in Battle trauma recovery hospitals (ie Headley Court). All in all there are about 230 (will get exact figures) in treatment at the moment that will not be able to go home over Xmas. Many don't have family or their family live a long way away and are unable to see them over the holidays.

These Xmas stocking provided by help for heroes will be the only thing that some will receive and I think it's really really important these soldiers know they have the support of the public and we are thinking of them.

If you or your company sell goods, or giftlike products and would be prepared to donate anything to go towards these stocking then please get in touch. I am in direct contact with Jo the corporate fundraising manager for the charity and am trying to get as much together to send to her for these stockings. alternatively if you are not comfortable with sending to me I can arrange for you to send any stuff directly to her no problem.

If any of you could help out I know they would be hugely grateful and its a worthy cause.

if you can't help with this you can always donate.

I have set up a justgiving page and will stick a quid in myself for every pound donated to the page

anything that you could give as a gift. I marked it for business because ideally they want one of each item for each stocking so needs a commitment of a couple of hundred items really.

BP - I have been promoting Help for Heroes for over a year thru various media, so well done for your post and to everyone one here who has pledged. thumbsup.gif

However, they really need to get their website organised. It is painfully inadequate for such a great cause.
